Journey of a Lifetime
As Muslims, we all have a desire to visit the two holy sanctuaries in the blessed cities of Makkah and Medina. Now you have a unique opportunity to make that dream come true! Perform Umrah, visit holy sites (ziyarats) along with visiting the Prophet’s (saaw) mosque in Medina Munawwara and acquire traditional Islamic knowledge from Shaykh Abdul Aziz Ahmed Fredericks who will teach through the entire trip.
Dirasa – the annual Umrah trip with Shaykh Abdul Aziz – is arranged by a group of individuals and has become a regular event for the last few years for Scandinavian young Muslims. 2012 will insha’Allah be the 6th year running that this program will be arranged.
We welcome sighted participants residing in Scandinavia as well as partially sighted and blind participants residing in Scandinavia or in the UK. We welcome this marginalized group, as they have difficulties performing the Umrah through other means. Also, this is a magnificent opportunity for the sighted participants to attain pleasure of Allah (swt) by helping the visually impaired or blind participants on this journey. About guiding the blind, Prophet Muhammed (saaw) has said: "Whoever guides a blind person for 40 steps, Paradise is certain for him." [A hadith related by al-Baihaqi and al-Tabrani and considered to have a good (hasan) chain]
For Dirasa 2012 we also welcome people with other disabilities - for examples wheelchair users. Please contact us at the earliest so we can assess your needs to accomodate them.
